about quercus

Quercus Publishing Plc was established by Mark Smith and Wayne Davies in May 2004 and produced best sellers with each of its first two titles. Soon it came to the attention of the national press, with the Financial Times describing Quercus as 'a poster child for the rising fortunes of small British publishers'.

In 2007 Stef Penney's The Tenderness of Wolves won the Costa Book of the Year Award, our first major literary prize. Other recent successes include Philip Kerr's The One From the Other and David Ignatius's Body of Lies, which was made into a film starring Leonardo di Caprio and Russell Crowe.
